Friends of Africa International is proud to announce that it will be honoring Kenya’s First Lady, Mrs. Margaret Gakuo Kenyatta, at an event held May 14 at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya to benefit Friends of Africa’s Kenya Medical Project. As founder of the Beyond Zero initiative, a campaign to ensure every Kenya citizen has access to medical services via remote mobile clinics, Mrs. Kenyatta is devoted to improving healthcare throughout Kenya.
The purpose of the events at which she will be honored is to raise awareness about the dire need for improved medical infrastructure in remote regions of Kenya and to raise funds for Friends of Africa’s Kenya Medical Project, which will refurbish and supply clinics throughout Northern Kenya and improve access to healthcare for hundreds of thousands living there.
Friends of Africa International will direct all funds raised during the event toward shipment of containers delivering millions of dollars worth of medical equipment and supplies donated by Project C.U.R.E., which will help to provision clinics throughout Kenya.
