FOA Founder & Chairman Introduces Kenya First Lady to Project C.U.R.E. Exec. Director, Katie Mabardy at State House, Nairobi

Friends of Africa International is proud to announce that it has pledged to support Beyond Zero, a national health initiative of Kenya First Lady, Mrs. Margaret Gakuo Kenyatta, as part of FOA’s Kenya Medical Project.

The purpose of the Kenya Medical Project is to answer the dire need for improved medical infrastructure in remote regions of Kenya by refurbishing and supplying clinics throughout Northern Kenya. Beyond Zero endeavors to improve access to healthcare for hundreds of thousands living in remote areas via a network of mobile clinics. In partnership with Project C.U.R.E., Friends of Africa International will direct all funds raised toward shipment of containers delivering millions of dollars in medical equipment and supplies donated by Project C.U.R.E., a U.S. nonprofit organization that collects and distributes medical provisions to facilities in developing nations. Friends of Africa will divert portions of these supplies to Beyond Zero’s mobile clinics.

This year marks the commencement of the Kenya Medical Project, which will improve access to medical care for hundreds of thousands of people living in Northern Kenya’s most remote regions. Aligned with Kenya First Lady, Honorable Margaret Kenyatta’s efforts to ensure all Kenyans have access to quality medical care, Friends of Africa will refurbish and restore remote medical clinics and deliver much needed supplies via donation made by Project C.U.R.E.

Her Excellency, Mrs. Kenyatta will be honored at an annual First Ladies Initiative event hosted by Project C.U.R.E. to take place in Phoenix, Arizona in March. Funds raised at this event will be dedicated to shipping medical supplies and equipment for Beyond Zero and Friends of Africa’s Kenya Medical Project.
